Are my files uploaded anywhere?
No. Wayna runs the AI on your own PC, so your audio, video and transcripts stay on your computer. The only things that go online are links you choose to paste (to download that video) and a quick license check about once a month.
Do I need the internet to use it?
Only for the first setup (to download the AI models), for transcribing links, and for the occasional license check. Your own files transcribe fully offline.
What kind of computer do I need?
A Windows 10 or 11 PC with Google Chrome and about 15 GB of free space. An NVIDIA graphics card makes it much faster. Without one, Wayna uses your processor and still works, just more slowly.
Does it work on Mac?
Not yet. Wayna is for Windows right now.
Which languages does it support?
Wayna transcribes 100 languages and detects which one is spoken automatically, including English, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, Pashto, Persian, Spanish, French and many more. It can translate transcripts into over 400 languages.
How accurate is it?
Wayna uses Whisper large-v3, one of the most accurate speech recognition models available. Clear recordings come out very close to perfect, and the built-in editor makes it quick to fix any word it misses.
How do speaker labels work?
Wayna can tell different voices apart and label them Speaker 1, Speaker 2 and so on. You can rename them to real names in one click. Turning it on takes a short one-time setup, and the guide walks you through it.
Which links can I paste?
Links from YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, Vimeo and many other video sites. Only transcribe content you have the right to use.
What formats can I export?
Word (DOCX), PDF, subtitles (SRT and VTT), plain text (TXT), CSV and JSON.
